Beautiful sparkling webs dot the front lawn this morning. ****************************************** My nasturtiums seem to be doing very well. I just love the shape of their leaves. ****************************************** Still rainy this morning but the weather looks to be warm(ish) and clearish) by the weekend. ******************************************

My heart is breaking! I just watched an electric company worker take down the street light out front - the one that had the sparrow nest in it! When he removed the light fixture, all this stuff came out and at least one bird flew out at him - he jumped a foot, lol - serves him right! The poor little things have no home now! I hope all the babies had left the nest. Now I want to know who ratted out the sparrows? It had to be one of our neighbors ...

So much going on now it's hard to keep up! The world is green again and there are things flying in the air and crawling underfoot. Nature is having a field day this month. ****************************************** Temps in the low 70s this week. A little rain maybe but mostly clear. Great planting weather. ****************************************** Speaking of planting, we've been busy doing just that. A post about all our garden aspirations will be up soon ... ******************************************

Coming Soon ...

Becoming_jane1

Have you heard about this movie? It look positively scrumptious! Go watch the trailer, and see for yourself!

I was flipping through the (glossy, gorgeous) pages of British Country Living last night when I came across a small blurb about this new movie. It stars Anne Hathaway as Jane Austen and that nice young James McAvoy - the one who played Mr. Tumnus in Narnia - as her love interest (or so it would seem from the trailer). It also stars James Cromwell, Julie Walters and Dame Maggie Smith. Wow, say no more - I'm there!

Becoming Jane opened last month in the UK and is listed as opening in the states this August - but in limited release. Oh, sassafrass! They did that with Miss Potter, too! Why would such a gem of a movie not open countrywide? You know how long we wait must between movies of this genre? Period movies, pretty movies ~ movies that fill our hearts with a balm that lingers for years, even taking the sting out of ordinary household chores on occasion.

These movies, how I love them. And I can't wait to love this one.

Thanks for keeping me informed, Dawn. Do you know when Miss Potter will be coming on DVD?

Cheryl, I believe it is June 19th. I never did see it, did you?

Miss Potter is scheduled to be released to DVD on June 19th (just in time for my birthday my husband was informed!).

Thank you for the heads up on this new one. It looks lovely!

Ditto - thanks Dawn!

Thanks Dawn!
I love Anne Hathaway.

Anne Hathaway is just lovely. Does she have a passable accent? I think I would prefer her over Keira Knightly to play Lizzie Bennett next time around.
Jennifer

It does look lovely! Thanks for the links. It will be hard to wait for this one I think. :-)

Still waiting to see Miss Potter....

you echo my sentiments exactly Dawn! I love these films.

Oh, that looks so lovely!! I cannot wait to see it. I'm sure I'll have to wait til it's released on DVD. I love Anne Hathaway.

Oh I am dying to see this movie. But it makes me crazy all the movies I want to see are in limited release. I was never able to see the Beatrix Potter movie. But all the yucky movies are everywhere. Well Dawn I guess you and me are wired !! xoxox Clarice

Thanks Dawn for the heads up...I will be watching for it to come out...got to see it.

My joy is bursting forth! Thank you, thank you, for being such a valuable informant!! I will add this to my Netflix que on the list with Miss Potter!!!

It looks like this will release in the U.S. in August.

Thanks for TWO great movies to watch for!! In our house Jane Austen is the "best of the best", so we'll be keeping our eyes open! Love your blog!

Yay,yay! So exciting! Thanks for letting us know.
