Nature Notes

Yesterday we found wild asters behind the back fence - Michaelmas daisies on Michaelmas! I cut some (leaving many) and placed them in a vase at our nature table. ****************************************** Cool and cloudy today but we've had several nice days this week - warm, windy, golden. ****************************************** Full Harvest Moon on Sunday night! ******************************************

Truly lovely Dawn!

dorothy

Your lights and leaves just look magical. I love it!

Sylvia

Your decorating is warm and cozy. I cannot bring myself to begin such a transformation of our home yet. We live in the south and when the temps are still in the 80s and 90s I simply do not feel like Autumn. October is our month to really feel the necessary nip in the air. In September I do like to fill baskets with apples and spend longer times on the deck because the morning temps are now much more bearable. I love your blog. Thank you for keeping on with it even when you are busy.

Amy

Hi Dawn - you mentioned in another post you were planning your fall menu plan - would you share that? Love to hear your ideas.

Kim

Oh, I think I found something similar (if not the same) at Target.....If you have another source, though I'd love to hear to compare. I'll be heading to a local store early in the week. :) Thanks again!

Kim

I love your ideas! I enjoy reading your blog though I have only commented a few times (I think!) :) I'm coming out of semi-lurkdom to ask where you got those lights. I've been looking online and at websites of stores in town that might carry them, and I can't find them. Maybe I'm not using the correct search terms......so anyway, just thought I'd ask. I have been thinking of a spot in our home that I could decorate a little more with the change of seasons, and these look lovely! :) Thanks for all you share.

Tracy

You are such an inspiration, Dawn! I love fall, and this just makes me long for that brisk weather. I nominated you for a blog award! Thanks for brightening my day!

Mrs. Sensibility

I love your idea. I do something similar above my china hutches and leave it up year-round.

Tamsen Lantych

I knew I should have bought those lights when I saw them! I know what I'm doing today! Thanks for the inspiration!

Phyllis

Beautiful! I would love to do something like that! I need some cooler days first, though.

sarah

I look forward to a crisp fall day soon. It's truly fall though--the light has changed so much!

Sue

Dawn, I just love your fall decorations, and can't wait to see more. You give me so many great ideas!

I'm just trying not to be too envious of your New England weather! We won't be feeling like fall for at least another month. Thankfully, I can always make it look like fall inside!

Melissa

Your home is absolutely beautiful. I've been borrowing a few of your ideas myself. We, too, love fall, and can't wait for cooler days!

I look forward to seeing more of your lovely nest!

Amy

I'm totally in the mood for fall, but it's still in the 90s in Baltimore, too...we're hunkered down for Hanna here with candles and pumpkin bread :) Bought my Yankee Candle spiced pumpkin candles and Bath and Body Works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin body spray!

Your leaf lights look soooo homey!

I love your Vera Bradley pattern - do you remember the name of the pattern?
