On National Handwriting Day, I have a special message for you all:
:)
Well, as I say in my note above, I do hope you all had a nice day! Our day was busy - a little crazy here and there to be honest, so I'm happy to see it winding down. In celebration of the "Year of the Dragon," we just enjoyed a delicious Chinese supper, and now we're kicking off the evening routines. (Say ... what's your favorite thing to order at a Chinese restaurant? I myself am quite partial to scallion pancakes - I can eat those things like nobody's business!)
So I'll see you again tomorrow ... before I sign off though, I'm going to pop into the Downton Abbey post and see what you all have to say. I'm eager to read all the thoughts and theories. :)
Have a great night, my friends!
❤

I've never tried scallion pancakes, Dawn, but last night I made kimchi pancakes and they were so very delicious! I'd bet the scallion version would be too.

We celebrated year of the Dragon in which I am born and my youngest is as well. Chicken Cashew is my favorite, Homestyle Bean Curd is my Husbands and Fried rice, Steamed dumplings, sesame chicken for the kids.

Lovely! Well, being Australia our Chinese restaurant menus are a little different to those I saw during my travels around the US! On Australian Chinese restaurants menus you'll see the following (which my family order): special fried rice, beef in black bean sauce, lemon chicken (deep fried boneless chicken pieces in a too-sweet thick lemon sauce), sweet and sour pork (deep fried balls of pork meat with the sauce), Mongolian lamb/beef, prawn crackers, sesame prawn toasts, spring rolls, banana fritters. Phew! Here's a link I found with pictures of dishes:

For dinner last night I made a beef stir fry with oyster sauce. I remember the thrill of going to Chinese restaurants when I was little as it was quite uncommon! The lazy susan was the highlight :) My children have some sensory issues and wouldn't eat anything at a Chinese restaurant, but I'm really looking forward to the day we can make it a special family outing. Oh and I also love dim sum (yum cha)!

Lovely handwriting Dawn...mine is more like chicken scratch ;o) I hope Ollie and Archie are feeling better...poor guys. Glad you were able to get meds into them early in the illness and hope it doesn't last long. No fun to be sick.
I'm not much partial to Chinese...although any kind of ginger beef is a big favourite. We've been to a few really good restaurants though and enjoyed the more traditional (aka...actually Chinese!) food and Steve quite often goes for dim sum with work. Hope you enjoyed your dinner and celebration :) Loved the little notepads you got for EB. Take care.

Dawn, I searched "Chineese New Year" at 4Real today and what a nice surprise; you started a post about it. Our celebration was last with some fellow hs friends. Our host did a wonderful job. The kids learned and enjoyed themselves very much. - Jenny

Very nice. :) When we could eat at Chinese restaurants once upon a time, one of my favorites was crab rangoon. We were always in search of the perfect one. I loved to dip it in sweet-n-sour sauce.
