Just before sunset, I snuck in my tea!
As well as a lovely little Linzer cookie. :)
I just love this snow angel mug, a gift from a friend years ago. It's my "Happy Winter" mug - I take it out of storage each year, just after Christmas. I love the shape, size and feel of it - perfect for a cup of cocoa (with plenty of room for extra marshmallows!) or a big mug of hot, milky tea. ("Earl Grey" was my choice for today.)
There's not much snow in the forecast I'm afraid, but we did have a dusting this morning:
It was gone by midday, much to my gang's disappointment.

Also disappointing is my inability to leave comments here at my own blog! I'm not sure what the problem is, but I apologize for not responding to recent comments and questions. Thankfully, my readers' comments are posting just fine - as far as I know - please let me know if you have any trouble. I did submit a "Help Ticket" to Typepad and hopefully I'll hear back from them soon.
I would like to say that I absolutely LOVED reading all of your Downton Abbey comments! How fun to enjoy this show all together, and to share our theories and impressions. I will do a "morning after" post through the rest of the season, which, according to this schedule, runs through February 19th
And I think it's so wonderful that some of you have special clubs and gatherings focused on this show! In fact, you have inspired me to do some "English" cooking for our Sunday suppers this Winter. Maybe not a whole meal, but one or two dishes that are distinctly British. I'd love suggestions on this subject, but in the meantime, I will consult one of my favorite British cookbooks - Jamie at Home. (His "Steak, Guiness and Cheese Pie" has long been a culinary goal of mine!)

Well, my friends, I hope you are all having a nice week so far ... for some reason I keep feeling like it's further along than it is, but alas it's still just Tuesday. (Not that I should wish away the week - every day is a gift, after all - the Tuesdays as much as the Fridays.) And speaking of days ... I took lots of pictures of the "Daybook" today, so tomorrow I can write up that post ... it will be a busy morning, though, so I'm not sure how early I'll have it up. I will do my best, however!
Have a good night, everyone ... I'll see you again very soon!
:)

what a great idea with Downton Abbey--LOVE that show. I'm glad it's catching on so, i'm often left out with popular crazes, but this is one I can really dig!

Thank you all for these lovely comments! And thank you, for joining me for tea. :)
Tracy ~ I am working on a post for later today that explains all about the daybook. It is basically a planner - for weekly planning and daily planning. I did make one several years ago but it never worked out. This one is much more detailed so I'm hoping it sticks!
Lisa ~ Good Neighbors is a favorite of mine! I happened to catch an episode one evening last spring on PBS. Total happenstance. But I loved it! Then we found the series was available through Netflix and started watching them all. Both Bill and I just love the whole series! I grew up loving Fawlty Towers so this was right up my alley!
Hope you all have a nice day ... I seem to have found out the problem with my comments - apparently I had myself marked as "spam," lol.
Blessings, all ...
~ Dawn

I love your mug and your teatime. *And* I am surprised and happy to see "Good Neighbors" on your "wish list". I have loved that series for longer than I want to say, (makes me feel old!)
I bought them on dvd a few years back as a Christmas present for myself and my husband, and have never regretted it.
I've been reading your blog for years and keep being surprised by how much we have in common :-)
Blessings,
~Lisa

Hi Dawn, I've been enjoying all your lovely posts lately! I have a question - forgive me if you have answered - but I was wondering what your new daybook will be used for. It is just beautiful - and I love how it coordinates with your homekeeping notebook. What will go in there? You haven't had one on the past, have you?

We got some snow here yesterday, and it was so exciting! Great big flakes. The ground was covered by dinnertime, and it was cold enough to stick around for a while, but by bedtime it was all melting. We went out in the woods this morning and caught the last glimpse of it. We also were blessed with a bunch of cardnals in our tree today. Three males and two females. I had been wondering where they all were and didn't expect them to all show up at once! It was very cool.
Take care and "see" you tomorrow!

lol - I was doing ok with my gluten free diet ( I started a six month trial this past October) until I saw that pie and started thinking about Yorkshire pudding! Not to mention that a cold can of dark Guiness poured into a glass was often my Friday night treat - sigh. Oh well - please let me know if you ever do make it - I'll enjoy vicariously!
