A quick hello this morning ... our Earlybird finally got hit with the virus so we're back at loose ends over here. Or at least EB is, the poor thing. I joked this morning to Bill that I felt a bit akin to Downton Abbey these days ~ turning our "manor" into a "sick ward" of sorts, lol. Makeshift daybeds in the parlor, and extra laundry down the stairs ...
Speaking of Downton though, I wanted to link you all this neat little piece I read in the Sunday Globe: "Linguistic Gotcha at 'Downton Abbey.'" It addresses some of the words and phrases used by DA characters that would not really have been used at that time. It's not a terribly nitpicky article - which would have been irritating - it's actually rather interesting. So I hope you enjoy. :)
Well, I'll be back when I can ... for now, wish me luck and please wish my EB a quick return to good health! (Prayers would be deeply appreciated as well.)
Have a nice Wednesday, my friends ...
❤

Dawn! Have you seen these? Downton Abbey paper dolls!?!

Thank you everyone for your prayers! EB is feeling so much better today ... I think he weathered this bug the best out of all of us, and already it feels like we're getting back to normal around here. Your loving concern and prayers on our behalf have absolutely had a hand in making this a little easier to bear. Much gratitude and love to you all!
Oh, and Jen ... that article was hilarious! Thanks for sharing . :)
Karen, if you find proof of any laundry fairies, please let me know ... I can use all the help I can get!
Beth, I am so sorry! I hope 'M" calms down and behaves! The little scamp, lol.
Elizabeth, I hope you and your little doggie are feeling better soon! Tis the season for tummy bugs, I think ...
Tanya, I have not yet seen Upstairs, Downstairs, but after watching (and loving) DA, I am very keen to!
Thank you again, for your comments and kind words, ladies ... blessings to you all.
~ Dawn

Oh Dawn...praying for EB that he gets well soon and isn't too ill. Stomach bugs are just the worst thing I can possibly imagine. (we've had noro in our house twice in the past 10 years and it was 2 times too many!) Praying for you too as you do extra laundry and are yourself just getting over it.
I haven't watched Downton yet (no cable) but it looks like just the sort of show I'll be able to enjoy once my children go to bed at a decent hour again! I really enjoyed watching through the series Upstairs, Downstairs when Crispin was small and this looks like a similar genre.
Speak soon and take care!

Sending you a hug EB! Get well soon!

Sorry to hear EB got sick. I thought enough time had passed that he was safe! I sympathize on the laundry. We're in the midst of kitten issues - he's been peeing on Kurt's bed! Lots of calls to vets, breeders, pet store runs. Ugh! I will send prayers that EB is better soon and that the rest of you stay well. Hope to see you next week!

Ah, I have not seen DA, but I did get seasons 1 and 2 for my mom - I am sure I will get them to watch eventually!
As for EB - our prayers are that he recovers quickly and you don't get a second go-round. (and that the laundry fairies show up and take care of all that extra for you - why not, that's what prayers are for, aren't they? or am I the only one who prays for laundry-fairies?)
Blessings for a quick recovery and small disruption

Thanks for posting this! I have actually wondered about this myself.
Thought some of you might be interested in this humorous take on our favorite PBS show! Please be advised it does get a bit "off color" in parts but it really gave me a chuckle!

Oh ,Dawn -I am so sorry for your sweet boy, I pray he will get it light and recover fast
His friends in Norway are thinking about him with love and tender hearts.
And I, might I add, his Mama and the blessings of clean laundry and the promise of a tomorrow....
