(69) Dancing with Grampa

(69) Dancing with Grampa

His 'Little Princess' ~ right from the start, there was a special bond between Dawn and her Grandparents.

Grama will turn 95 this week and we'll be celebrating the Birthdays this weekend. Crackerjack just asked if that means 2 cakes - we understand a 9 year's priorities.

Catching bubbles at her Grandparents house.

(70) Dawn and her Mum

(70) Dawn and her Mum

The boys wanted to know who their Mama was holding ... no kids, that's Nana holding your Mama.

(70) Dawn with her Mum

(70) Dawn with her Mum

While her Dad was away during the war, they took tons of pictures of Dawn to send over to him.

Taken by her Uncle George playing at his farm in Maine.

(71) Formal Picture

(71) Formal Picture

This is an infamous Easter picture ... taken before they knew she had an infection that resulted in many tests and worries. Fortunately it wasn't serious and she recovered quickly.

Cute smile though.

Summer at her Grandparents with her brother Matt.

(74) Swinging High

(74) Swinging High

Dawn spent a lot of summer days at grandparents swinging, picking tomatoes with Grampa, swimming in the pool and having a great time.

Note the Dorothy Hammel haircut ... I'd laugh harder except I may have been sporting one very similar to it. Mine used a smaller 'bowl'.

(75) Reflective

(75) Reflective

Wistfully thinking about something ... taken by her Uncle George.

Have to include the cheerleader picture!

(89) Happy 20th

(89) Happy 20th

Actually, not sure who was celebrating their 20th birthday in this picture, but it had to get in the album since Dawn's now 2x as old!

(90) College Junior Prom

(90) College Junior Prom

Our first formal dance together.

I'm clearly a very lucky man.

(91) College 'Mixer'

(91) College 'Mixer'

A mixer is another word for a dance ... but for me there was no mixing.

Did I mention what a lucky man I am?

(91) College Graduation with Family

(91) College Graduation with Family

BA in English ... which means she can write as well as read.

(93) Wedding Dance

(93) Wedding Dance

For those who have been reading Dawn's blog and have seen this picture before, we DO have other pictures of that day ~ just none scanned in and waiting to be uploaded.

Did I mention before what a lucky man I am?

Dawn serving tea to our grandmothers at my parents' house. Both ladies enjoyed tea, each other, and Dawn.

(97) Pa holding Bookworm

(97) Pa holding Bookworm

This was taken right around the time that he became a bookworm.

Pa loved him so much ... before we had kids, we were at a family party where a whole bunch of little ones were running around. He completely embarrassed Dawn by saying in front of everyone - 'We'd take one of those please!' We were so happy his wishes were fulfilled the next year. He passed before Crackerjack was born, so we're glad we didn't wait.

(99) Crackerjack Christening

Crackerjack's christening with my sister Ami and Dawn's brother Matt as god-parents.

One of the many post-college get togethers.

(x00) Crackerjack's 1st B-day

(x00) Crackerjack's 1st B-day

Already reaching for the cake. You can tell he's our second, we're still posing for the picture. With Bookworm we probably would have had some belt apparatus in case he fell ... being first isn't always fun.

(x02) Mothers Day

(x02) Mothers Day

Mother's Day with all the Mamas!

Also, this is our dining/learning room under construction ... it used to be a sun porch.

Riley saw the train table in the background and ran downstairs to play. All we hear is crashing and 'sorry'. Too funny!

(x05) College Moms

(x05) College Moms

The group keeps meeting every so often even though everyone's now a Mom and busy with little ones.

(x05) Singing the Stations

(x05) Singing the Stations

Dawn loves this outdoor walk of the stations of the cross ... it's become a Good Friday tradition.

(x07) For Real Learning Conf

(x07) For Real Learning Conf

Dawn and I traveled to Virginia to a Homeschooling Conference and finally had a chance to meet some of the great people she's met online.

(x08) A Toad in Hand

(x08) A Toad in Hand

Having 3 boys invariably will bring a few toads into your life. Although she didn't start out a lover of amphibians, she's embraced all the things the boys have dug up or found in our yard.

(x08) Planning

(x08) Planning

Anyone familiar with Dawn's blog will know that no description of Dawn through the years would be complete without mentioning at least 1 of the organization methods she's crafted.

We once joked that she had a list of her lists ...

(x08) Reading Basket

(x08) Reading Basket

Dawn reads in 1 week more than I read in a year ... she keeps her reading organized in baskets such as this one. If 1/3 of our money goes to food ... guess where another 1/3 goes!

(x09) Outside

(x09) Outside

Closeup enjoying a day outside.

I having a running joke with Dawn that she is our sun and we orbit around her. With the light behind her, it seems like she does have a corona!
