I've made up our Early Spring Book Basket - in real life (see below) and over there on the righthand sidebar (scroll down a bit). It should be noted, there are many more titles in my virtual basket than I have here at home - but that's where the library comes in. ;)

  • Maple sugaring - trees/natural resources, Native Americans, country life
  • Pond life - vernal pool, spring peepers, ducks & ducklings, minnows, swans
  • Early greenery - pussy willows, forsythia, wild onion, dandelions
  • Backyard life - rabbits, toads, robins, birds, tree buds
  • Water - melting snow, spring rains, puddles, rainbows
  • Air - March wind, open windows, kite-flying, pinwheels
  • Noah's Ark - animals, water, zoo trip, animal crackers
  • Vernal equinox - spring, seasons, changes in nature
  • Wool - lamb, sheep, farm, spinning, weaving
  • Nests - birds, eggs, new life
  • Eggs - hens and chicks, farm, baskets, new life
  • Seeds - a children's garden, planting days, new life
  • Earth - dirt, mud, Earth Day, stewardship
  • Field days - nature walks, journals, pictures, field guides
  • Out & About - the farm, the nursery, the park, the pond
  • Cleaning - beeswax polish, herbal soap, rake and mulch
  • Butterflies - caterpillars, metamorphasis
