Well, that was so much fun! The boys and I just got in from Book Group and were thrilled to read so many weather reports from all over the country (and world)! Thanks to everyone who left a comment after my morning post, and if you haven't checked it out yet, click here for all the lion-OR-lamb news! Up here in the northeast, our day turned out to be quite gentle, actually ~ mid-40s and sunshine, lots of melting and dripping ... though it looks like a snow/rain event will move in overnight. Ah, but such is March - a fickle time of year if ever there was one ...
In other March weather news, did you know this Saturday night there will be a total eclipse of the Full Worm Moon? Further details can be found here, but be sure to set your alarm for 6:21 p.m. (Or, if you're like me, set it for 6:16 in order to give yourself five extra minutes to remember what that alarm was for, lol.) And just for the record, I know moon phases aren't technically a meteorological event, but they do appear on the weather page. ;) If you happen to get Night Sky Magazine (which, sadly, is going out of print) the current issue has an interesting article about this month's total lunar eclipse, the first of two this year - apparently there will be another on August 28th. Neat!
The March moon was given its name due to the thawing earth and return of the earthworms (and therefore the robins). If, however, you'd prefer a more eloquent moniker, March's moon is also known as the Full Sap Moon. Which just settles it for me - we're eating waffles for our Saturday night supper! Here's a quick poem in its honor:
Cold nights, warm days, sap is sure to run.
Moon looms in the branches, waiting for the sun.

Oh, and P.S.! Lindsey @ Enjoy the Journey left my 3000th comment today! The other day I noticed I was getting close and I was going to post a little something about it, like "Who will it be?" But I quickly felt very silly about that, so I just kind of forgot about it ... and then today, with this fun weather post, I hit 3,000 and it was Lindsey! Thank you, Lindsey, and thank you to everyone who stops by! Truly, I am blessed by your company out here in the blogosphere! :)
