I first heard about Houndsley and Catina from Susan at Chicken Spaghetti. I love her book reviews and I also love this author, James Howe (of Bunnicula fame). Well a few clicks on my computer and I found a copy of Houndsley at our local library - it's slightly off-season, but with all this new fallen snow, it will make a nice read-aloud for Earlybird this week :)
"The first snow of winter has fallen, and Houndsley is very happy, as he loves the quiet time. Catina does not like the quiet time, however, and she does not enjoy being snowed in. What about all her plans for the day? What if their evening concert has to be canceled? With a bit of pretending, a few books and board games, a flourish of creativity, and
some time to dream, Houndsley helps Catina let go of her worries and enjoy the snowy day, wherever it might take them." (Amazon)
Speaking of books, you might notice I've updated our book baskets to reflect themes in our homeschool this March. I'm also working on the nature shelf today and I just spruced up the windows. I was thinking I might trudge outside to snip forsythia and pussy willow branches for the jam jars, but I guess I'll wait another day or two. The snow's still falling and I'm rather cozy in my house, thank you very much. :)
Hope this day finds you well and warm! See you all again sometime soon.
