A Few Happy Things

Couldn't resist posting a few pretty pictures today - just some simple things that have brought a smile to my face in the past few days ...

Happyday1

Some lovely blush tea roses I picked up at the store. I have to hide them at night (so the cat won't get them) but during the day I like to park them in a sunny spot where I can stop and take a moment to admire them and inhale their sweet fragrance.

Happyday2

This lovely plaque was a Christmas present from my folks. I have always loved this sentiment ~ it's really a guiding principle in my life. I had Bill hang it right above the archway between the learning room and the family room.

 Happyday4

I was at a local TJ Maxx last weekend (looking for, of all things, a squirrel shaped cookie jar - more on that later) and saw these wonderful heart-shaped ramekins. I've been wanting to find ramekins just like these for Valentine's Day, ever since I came across an intriguing recipe for mini pudding souffles in a holiday baking magazine. Every internet search turned up sets that were decidedly out of price range ... but these little beauties were only $2.99 a piece!

Happyday6

Another cute little find in a bargain aisle at a local shop. Isn't this a neat notepad? The cover is actually made of wood - eco-friendly, sustainably harvested wood! It's made by a company called Night Owl Paper Goods. It's the perfect size to tuck in my purse.

Happyday5

I couldn't resist picking up a few pretty Valentine cards too. It's only a month away!

Happyday7

And lastly, a spurge. ;) My mum and I drove up to a wonderful scrapbooking store on Saturday and had fun poking around all the papers and rubber stamps and myriad paper craft supplies. I bought a few pages of pretty paper (potential blog banners) as well as two magazines. On the left is a beautiful magazine about blogging (eye candy at its finest!) and on the right is a really cool craft magazine from Canada. I plan to savor them this weekend when I "cash in" on my favorite birthday gift of all - time to putter and plot and plan. :)

Well, I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday ~ thanks for stopping by my little corner today. Wherever you are, take time to appreciate this fine January day - no matter the weather, the ups or the downs - every day is a gift!
