Today's Advent calendar note read ...
"Happy Feast of Saint Nicholas! Today we'll bake "Dutch Spice" cookies and there's a little treat hidden in the tree ..."
EB loved the Veggie Tales movie, but I'm sorry to say, the cookies did not get made. (We'll bake them tomorrow instead. ) We were just so busy today between lessons and lunch and marketing and the library and, oh yes - visiting the orthodontist where Bookworm GOT HIS BRACES OFF!
And how does BW feel about this, you might wonder?
I'll let that smile speak for itself. :D
In other homefront news, it snowed today ~ for the very first time this season, we had snow! Sure, the sun was shining the whole time - and not a bit of it stuck - but for a good hour or more we had flurries this morning! Very exciting, and a nice break from math. ;) I overheard Crackerjack telling Earlybird it must have been a gift from St. Nicholas himself.
Speaking of gifts from St. Nicholas, this is the book I should have requested from the library last week so I'd have it for today but ... well, I didn't. It's not a book I'm familiar with, but the illustrations look beautiful and the storyline sounds sweet. We'll pick it up this weekend on our next library run.
And since I'm being fairly random in this post, I'll tell you what we're having for supper tonight ...
Spaghetti and meatballs - only I used ground chicken for the meatballs - and a (bottled) alfredo sauce for the pasta. Roasted broccoli and garlic bread will round things out. It's all cooking as I type up this post, and let me tell you - it smells pretty good!
Well, that's all for now ~ see you again in a day or two ~ I hope you all have a good night!
