Beautiful and interesting! Ther leaves and stems look alot like an azalea, but those flowers sure are neat. Perhaps some sort of a double azalea? It's a little hard to tell from the pictures.

They look like an Azalea to me too, especially in the top picture. Whatever they are, they are sure are beautiful.

Your plant made me curious so I looked up wiegelia and found this link that has a similar one (?) called "Pretty Princess" -- see if it matches with yours. Should have a trumpet shaped flower (they're related to the honeysuckle). I see my wiegelia is planted entirely in the wrong shady place! No wonder it's barely making it.

Hmmm ... very interesting Teri! My shrub definitely looks simlilar to the one in your link, but I think the blossoms on mine are fuller.
