• Welcome to my little nature corner! I am starting this blog on January 1st, 2007 and it is my goal to write something every day - in hopes of creating a family almanac by the end of the year. Some days it might just be the temperature, others it will be (I hope) posts full of pictures and observations. I hope you enjoy your time here!

Everyday Nature

  • ~Early Spring Birds~
Now's the time of year to start watching for spring migrants passing through. Keep your bird guides handy so you can identify them! It's also the time to hear spring birdsong (it will sound new and yet familiar) and to observe courting behavior. :) ******************************************

January 03, 2007

I'm with you. We had the second warmest December on record here, and something just doesn't seem quite right. I don't think I'd want to live somewhere where shoveling snow is a daily occurrence in the winter, but I *do like the change of seasons.

I couldn't have said it better myself:) My husband said that the local weather guy says that the northeast should get the same weather pattern that the midwest has had recently come February. Here's hopin':)

I am a NE girl myself, and being in AR (where I have lived for almost 2 years) for an even milder winter, is hard on me. I need hibernation too.
