6/3/08 Hmmm ... a female brown-headed cowbird stopped by the wren's nest(s) to check things out. I bet she was looking for a spot to lay her egg (remember my post, Rainbows and Rude Birds?). Meanwhile the wren is still busy at work, feathering all three of the cavities in the birdhouse. I hope he and the Mrs. decide to settle into one of them. :)
5/29/08 Helicopter seeds are spinning on the wind, constantly it seems, these days. When I spy one, I do a double take, thinking it might be a dragonfly. And speaking of, there are plenty of dragonflies around now as well. We get some real humdingers around here - huge and fast. We're convinced they're leftover from the prehistoric age, lol!
5/23/08 Memorial Day weekend is here! Our weather in New England looks to be sunny and warm - up to 80 by Monday!
